The 445th Civil Affairs Battalion has a rich history dating back to immediately following World War I. The designation of “Pacific Peacemakersˮ is proudly displayed on communications, badges and other official identification.
History with the San Francisco Elks Lodge No. 3 dates back to 2007 when we adopted the unit and provided for their event known as “Dining Outˮ.This evening is made up of a dinner, speeches and formal promotions to those troops who have shown integrity, dedication and a “Ready To Go Attitudeˮ.
The mission of a Civil Affairs Battalion is to assist areas affected by military conflict, to preserve Arts, Monuments, and Culture Heritage while surviving in a hostile atmosphere.San Francisco Elks adopted this unit as a demonstration of support of those who wear the United States Army uniform and the important work they do.
This upcoming year will be a continuation of the honor of showing our support and allowing the unit to celebrate another successful year in the endeavors undertaken.
